When will the game be released?

Castle of Blackwater is set to go into Beta release on March 2024, featuring a fully playable and enjoyable core gameplay loop, peer-to-peer matchmaking and some navigational menu features. The full public release on PC, including inventory management, social features, progression systems and more, is set for the end of 2024. What makes Castle of Blackwater a Web3 game?

Castle of Blackwater was founded out of the principle that gamers should have more authentic ownership over their in-game assets. However, as not to distance ourselves from the mainstream gamer community, we will offer two different levels of play; casual and competitive. The casual version of the game will be comparable to any existing free-to-play game, and can be enjoyed by any regular gaming that does not care about web3 features and ownership. Players that wish to engage with the web3 side of the game are able to play the competitive version of Castle of Blackwater, which will require purchasing and holding at least one NFT character to gain access. Any assets purchased in the competitive version of the game can be traded between players for digital currencies.
